The Amalfi Coast (Costiera Amalfitana) stretches in the south of the Sorrento peninsula, near the Gulf of Salerno. The peninsula is located in the southwest of mainland Italy, just south of Naples. In 1997, this picturesque coast was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Stunning landscapes all around inspire artists, composers and filmmakers. Furore
This tiny old town is one of the most picturesque places in Italy. Due to its unique location, finding the village from the sea is problematic. Still, from 1997 it is enlisted as UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Amalfi Coast: Vietri sul Mare
The city of Vietri has been famous for the beauty of its majolica for many centuries: the interior altars, the dome and the spire of the bell tower of the parish church of San Giovanni Battista (1732) are covered with this magnificent material. This beautiful church, the colors of which are visible from afar, contains magnificent canvases from the 17th and 18th centuries. This city, which boasts not only a magnificent sea, but also a lush vegetation around, was inhabited (presumably by the Tyrrhenian tribe) already during the ancient city of Marcina (I-II century AD).
Minori
Minori is a tiny resort on the Amalfi coast, located 5 km from Amalfi and 60 km from Naples. Only 3,000 people live here, and tourists come to Minori to take a break from the hustle and bustle of big cities, sunbathing on local beaches and enjoying beautiful views.
Even 2,000 years ago, this city was a resort for the Roman nobility, and archaeological excavations are still being carried out in its vicinity. One of the most valuable finds at the moment is the Roman Villa, which is a whole archaeological complex with a gallery and mosaics.
Amalfi Coast: Cetara
Cetara is a typical fishing village on the Amalfi Coast, overlooking the sea, with cozy old houses, a tower and a church with a majolica dome. People come to Chetara to taste the best tuna of the Amalfi Coast and anchovy sauce, as well as enjoy the small and spectacular beaches.
Maiori
Maiori is the longest beach on the Amalfi coast in Italy. This is an exceptionally comfortable sandy coast, and families with children love to come here. Several years ago it was difficult to find free space here, but it’s not a problem any longer. Most of the old buildings were destroyed by the natural disaster in 1954, so now it is just a pleasant Mediterranean town without any special historical spots.

Praiano is a small village on the Amalfi coast, located halfway between Amalfi and Positano. It is included in the list of the most beautiful towns in Italy and is the smallest commune in the southern part of the country. No wonder Wagner, David Lawrence and Virginia Woolf spent all their time here. Ravello is now known for its gardens and beautiful views, the most unforgettable on the whole Amalfi coast. From the town you can walk down to Atrani in about 40 minutes.
