If you need a good and pleasant emotional impulse – take a virtual trip to the unusual island of Burano in Italy!
This small island is located in the same Venetian lagoon, near the city of Venice, but differs from the rest of the city with its colorful houses.

Houses on Burano have apparently been painted since the “golden age” of the island, when people first settled there. But not everything is so simple: if you live on an island and want to change the color of your house, you will have to send a letter to the local government and they will tell you which one you can use.

The legend has it that the island’s fishermen were the first to paint their houses in bright colors. It helped them to see their homes from the sea while fishing.

Weaving lace is another great attraction on the island. Local women have been doing this since 1400. Leonardo da Vinci himself visited a store on the island of Burano and bought a cloth that he used on the altar of the cathedral in Milan.

Today, lace and ice cream shops, as well as artisan stalls, clutter the narrow streets of the quaint, vibrant island. But this absolutely does not spoil the impression of an exciting and cheerful walk!
