The Carnival of Venice: one of the brightest events of the year in Europe


So little time has remained until a traditional Carnival of Venice 2020 starts in ancient Italian city. This year it will start on February 8 and will last until February 25. As always, this world famous event will become a triumph of tastes, enogastronomy and love of life. Bright holiday invariably attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world. The start and end of the carnival are closely connected to the Great Lent and therefore differ from year to year.

Hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world come to the event every year. It is a perfect mix of traditions, history and spectacles, which can only be seen in this colorful city

The Carnival of Venice was first mentioned in 1094. The Senate of the Republic by its decree authorized the festival on a day before the Great Lent

Each year, the festival changes its main theme. It can be a representation of one of the cultures or even just a catchy show

For several weeks, St. Mark’s Square, theaters, streets, squares and public buildings become the main venues for numerous shows and pageants
